Major breakthrough, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) announced the successful arrest of five Chinese nationals and one Singaporean for their alleged involvement in cybercrime activities. The arrests were made following a series of coordinated raids across Singapore on September 9, 2024, marking one of the largest police operations ever carried out in the country.

A Coordinated Operation

The operation involved the mobilization of 160 law enforcement officers from several key departments, including the Criminal Investigation Department, Police Intelligence Department, Special Operations Command, and Internal Security Department. The precision raids targeted multiple locations simultaneously, resulting in the arrest of six men, aged between 32 to 42, who are suspected of being linked to a global cybercrime syndicate.

Seized Assets and Charges

Authorities seized electronic devices and cash, further strengthening the case against the suspects. This operation is seen as a significant step in dismantling the cybercrime syndicate, which had allegedly been involved in malicious online activities on a global scale.

The suspects are accused of various illegal cyber activities, making this bust one of the most significant in the region’s history.

Collaborative Effort

The success of this operation underscores the effectiveness of collaborative efforts between multiple law enforcement agencies. The Singapore Police Force and its associated departments played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of the operation.
